The Eventuri FL5 Civic Type R Carbon Charge Pipe is a precision-engineered upgrade designed to optimize airflow efficiency, reduce thermal transfer, and support higher-performance builds on Honda’s latest Type R platform. Replacing the restrictive factory metal turbo tube, this system introduces a larger internal diameter and smoother flow path to help the turbo operate with greater efficiency, particularly as boost levels increase.

Eventuri developed this charge pipe using high-temperature prepreg carbon fiber, a material chosen not only for its strength and lightweight properties but also for its ability to resist heat soak far better than the OEM aluminum tube. By minimizing heat absorption from the turbocharger, the system helps maintain cooler intake temperatures, promoting denser air and more consistent performance during aggressive driving or track use.

A key engineering advantage lies in the expanded internal geometry. The tube increases from approximately 78mm at the intake side to 88mm toward the turbo, delivering over a 32% gain in cross-sectional area at its widest point. This added volume allows the intake system to support greater airflow demands without becoming a bottleneck, making it an ideal complement to tuned vehicles and future power upgrades.

Flow quality was equally prioritized in the design process. The exceptionally smooth internal carbon surface reduces turbulence often associated with cast metal tubing, while the carefully profiled elbow promotes uninterrupted airflow directly into the turbocharger. The result is improved efficiency, enhanced turbo response, and a more stable airflow path under load.

To further manage heat transfer, the charge pipe integrates a CNC-machined turbo flange paired with a custom silicone coupler featuring an integrated thermal spacer. This layered approach creates an effective barrier between the turbo and intake charge, helping preserve performance consistency in demanding conditions.
