IND’s First Wash of Our BMW G99 M5 Touring – A Deep Dive Into the Ultimate Super Wagon

When our G99 M5 Touring was delivered, we specifically requested that the dealership skip their usual wash. Why? Because this first wash is one of the most rewarding parts of new vehicle ownership. It’s more than just keeping a car clean, it’s an opportunity to get hands-on with the platform, familiarize ourselves with every contour, and appreciate all the design details up close.
Here at IND, the G99 M5 Touring holds a special place. Ever since BMW decided to leave the G81 M3 Touring out of the U.S. market, we knew that when the G99 M5 Touring was finally approved for North America, we had to have one. Beyond being an iconic addition to the IND stable, it’s crucial for our team to have hands-on experience so we can confidently recommend the right parts and modifications to our customers. During that first wash, I was struck by how much better the G90/G99 M5’s bodylines suit the Touring version. While we also own one of the most highly modified G90 M5 sedans in the U.S. (and appreciate its power delivery), the overall design language just seems to come together more cohesively on the wagon.
