The MMX Performance BMW S58 Billet Oil Filter Housing Cap replaces the factory plastic housing on BMW's S58 engine with one machined from solid aluminum. The OE part cracks, deforms and loses its seal over time, and every oil service means removing and refitting it again. When it finally gives up, the result is oil seepage.
The MMX cap is crafted from a solid billet of 6061 aerospace-grade aluminum and anodized black. It is light, extremely durable, and holds its shape through the heat cycles that fatigue the plastic original.
The pressure control oil bypass is built directly into the MMX housing. On other aftermarket caps the fragile factory plastic bypass valve has to be transferred across, which is where it frequently breaks. Integrating the bypass removes that step entirely and keeps oil flow and pressure regulation consistent without relying on a known failure point.
It is a full OE replacement requiring no modifications, supplied with a factory-specification O-ring. Fitting is straightforward and best done alongside an oil and filter change. It is compatible with OEM oil filters and pairs with the MMX S58 stainless steel lifetime oil filter, which addresses the separate and well-documented risk of the factory paper element collapsing.

- Best installed during a routine oil and filter change. Remove the factory housing and fit the MMX unit in its place.
- Supplied with a new factory-specification O-ring. No modifications are required.
- The torque specification is marked into the face of the cap: torque to 25Nm.

- The oil filter shown in the product photography is for reference only and is not included.
- Prolonged exposure to extreme heat can affect the appearance of the anodized finish. This is unavoidable with anodized aluminum and does not affect the function of the part.
