The MMX Performance BMW E-Chassis N54 Performance Intercooler is a substantial, no-compromise upgrade for the N54-powered 135i, 1M, and 335i. The factory intercooler is undersized for any meaningful tune, and even on stock boost, it heat-soaks rapidly under sustained load, leading to falling intake temperatures, falling power, and the familiar dyno graph rolling off after the first run. The MMX intercooler eliminates that bottleneck.

Built around a high-efficiency bar-and-plate core that's 20% larger in volume than OE, the unit reduces charge air temperatures by approximately 20°C versus the factory part, a meaningful difference that translates to roughly 20bhp of additional power even at standard boost pressure. The benefits compound rapidly as boost is increased: the larger core absorbs heat that the OE part can't, repeatedly, run after run, with no heat-soak recovery time required.

Construction is full motorsport spec. The core is precision TIG-welded throughout, with high-flow cast end tanks designed for optimal airflow and an anti-corrosive thermal black finish that holds up to engine-bay heat cycling. OE-style charge pipe connections make installation a sub-one-hour job, no cutting, no permanent modifications, no fabrication.
