Karbonius E30 3-Series Carbon Hood
The Karbonius E30 3-Series Carbon Hood is a precision-engineered carbon fiber replacement for the factory steel hood, delivering a 7 kg weight reduction at just 6 kg — making it one of the most impactful single weight-reduction upgrades available for the E30 platform. Manufactured entirely in Spain by qualified personnel using the finest carbon fiber materials and processes available in the automotive composites industry.
The hood is a simplified replica of the original exterior geometry, where the outer surface faithfully replicates the OEM profile while the interior is engineered as a wide, harmonious structural surface that improves both strength and aesthetics over the factory steel piece. The exterior and interior halves are joined on an assembly bench using structural adhesive, with structural adhesive-bonded nutserts for mounting. Multiple layers of UV-protective polyurethane varnish provide a deep, durable gloss finish. Premium materials are used throughout production: Hexcel or SGL carbon fiber, Sika adhesives, and Glasurit varnishes.
