The Eventuri Black Carbon Intake System for the 2025+ Mercedes-AMG G63 (W465, M177) is a complete ground-up redesign of the factory intake architecture, engineered to deliver measurable airflow gains, improved turbo efficiency, and a dramatic visual upgrade to the engine bay.

Developed specifically for the W465 platform, this system replaces the restrictive OEM airboxes with high-volume 100% pre-preg carbon fiber housings that take full advantage of the available space under the hood. By increasing intake volume and refining the airflow path, Eventuri achieved an approximately 25% greater airflow rate compared to the OEM airboxes, all while retaining the original cold air feeds for consistent intake temperatures.

The increased internal volume and smoother transitions allow the turbochargers to draw air with reduced resistance, helping decrease wastegate duty cycle and improve overall engine efficiency. The result is stronger response, improved pull through the mid-range, and a more engaging induction sound under load.

To accommodate the larger intake assemblies, Eventuri also redesigned the engine cover. The new cover is manufactured from pre-preg carbon fiber and features a distinctive red Kevlar center section with a herringbone carbon weave, completing the engine bay with a motorsport-inspired aesthetic.

Airbox Assemblies

The dual airbox assemblies utilize a two-piece upper and lower design, separated by bespoke high-flow panel filters. Each airbox is shaped to maximize internal volume while maintaining a direct, unobstructed airflow path to the turbo inlets.

Given the compact nature of the G63 engine bay, increasing volume required careful optimization of internal height. The most significant gains were achieved by enlarging the upper airbox lids, resulting in a smoother transition from filter to turbo and a substantial increase in overall flow capacity.

Each airbox incorporates multiple CNC-machined components and precision brackets to ensure OEM-style fitment. New to the W465 platform are integrated breather modules positioned immediately before the outlets, each precision machined to accept the OEM breather ports. The airbox bases feature machined mounting points designed to seat cleanly into the OEM mounting grommets on both sides.

OEM vs Eventuri Airbox Design

A direct comparison with the factory airboxes highlights the advantages of the Eventuri system. The OEM intake relies on a long, narrow flexible duct feeding into a compact airbox, limiting both volume and flow capacity while restricting how incoming air is presented to the filter.

Eventuri integrates the majority of the cold air feed length directly into the airbox base, enabling a much larger internal volume and a more organic airflow path that exposes the filter more evenly.

Additionally, the OEM airbox lid places the filter panel very close to the turbo inlet, forcing airflow through a tight and uneven transition from a rectangular filter to a circular inlet. This creates stagnant zones across the filter surface and increases resistance.

The Eventuri design lowers the filter position, creating additional space for a smoother transition to the turbo inlet. This results in more uniform filter utilization, reduced turbulence, and lower drag on the turbochargers.

Carbon Fiber Engine Cover

Maximizing intake volume required a redesigned engine cover, as the OEM cover sits too close to the factory intake system. The Eventuri engine cover provides the necessary clearance while adding a premium visual upgrade, manufactured from pre-preg carbon fiber with a Kevlar center section.

Custom High-Flow Panel Filters

To support the increased intake volume, Eventuri developed bespoke panel filters specifically for this system. These filters use a multi-layer dry filtration medium for effective particle capture while maintaining high airflow. The curved filter profile helps eliminate sharp internal corners within the airbox, reducing turbulence and maintaining smooth, consistent airflow to the turbos.
