The Eventuri Black Carbon Intake System V2 for the Honda FK8 Civic Type R was developed through extensive dyno validation and airflow analysis to achieve two primary objectives: maintain low intake air temperatures and significantly de-restrict the turbo inlet path. The result is one of the most effective and thoroughly engineered intake solutions available for the K20C1-powered FK8 platform.
Positioned directly behind the radiator, the factory intake location makes heat management critical. Eventuri addresses this by fully enclosing the filter within a sealed prepreg carbon fiber airbox which utilizes the factory hood seal to isolate the intake from engine bay heat. This design helps maintain stable and lower intake air temperatures under load, preventing the power loss commonly associated with exposed cone filter setups.
To improve airflow efficiency, the restrictive flexible factory tubing has been eliminated and replaced with a carbon Venturi stack connected directly to the filter. This optimized inlet geometry promotes smoother, more laminar airflow into the turbocharger, reducing resistance and improving spool characteristics. The system also incorporates a secondary inlet scoop which draws additional air from the inner wing area, nearly doubling the effective cross-sectional area compared to the single-entry factory system.
The V2 revision includes an updated MAF housing for improved signal stability and calibration consistency. Independent testing has demonstrated gains of approximately 14–20 horsepower and 22–29 lb-ft of torque, with V-Box data showing a 60–130mph acceleration improvement of 1.2 seconds. On the road, the intake delivers sharper throttle response, stronger mid-range pull, and a more pronounced turbo induction sound.
