BMW E46 M3 CSL Center Console Alcantara Pad
The BMW E46 M3 CSL Center Console Alcantara Pad is a genuine BMW OEM component developed for the E46 M3 CSL's bespoke carbon fiber center console. As part of BMW's weight-reduction program for the "Coupé Sport Leichtbau", the CSL received a minimalist carbon console that replaced the heavy standard unit; eliminating the fold-down armrest, cupholders, and ashtray in favor of a simple, lightweight partition for small items.
Because the CSL console partition retained a clear-coated carbon finish, items placed in the tray would slide freely and risk scratching the surface. BMW addressed this with a foam-padded Alcantara insert that fits neatly at the base of the partition, protecting the carbon and keeping contents secure. This is a genuine BMW part constructed from Alcantara over a thin foam backing, maintaining the premium tactile quality expected inside the CSL.
