The Alpha-N Carbon Vented Hood for the BMW G90 and G99 M5 brings motorsport-inspired aerodynamics and lightweight construction to BMW’s latest high-performance sedan and touring platform. Designed and manufactured in Germany, this hood is produced entirely from pre-preg carbon fiber using advanced composite manufacturing techniques and premium materials sourced from Italy.
Alpha-N developed the G9X M5 hood with an all-new vent layout designed to improve engine bay heat extraction while enhancing aerodynamic efficiency. The larger and strategically positioned air outlets allow hot air to escape more effectively, helping to improve thermal management during aggressive driving conditions. The design takes inspiration from BMW Motorsport race cars such as the M4 GT3, bringing functional motorsport engineering to the road-going M5.
The hood features integrated skeletal bracing within the carbon structure to maintain rigidity while keeping overall weight to a minimum. By reducing weight over the front axle, the Alpha-N hood helps improve the vehicle’s weight distribution while dramatically enhancing the visual presence of the G90 and G99 M5.
Alpha-N carbon body components are engineered with precision to achieve OEM-level fitment. Each hood is manufactured using 2x2 twill weave carbon fiber and advanced autoclave processes to ensure optimal strength, consistency, and structural integrity.
This component is delivered in a raw carbon finish and requires professional paint or clear coating prior to installation. Unlike cosmetic carbon components that rely on thick resin or filler to create a perfect cosmetic surface, Alpha-N prioritizes lightweight strength and structural rigidity. As a result, professional preparation and finishing are recommended before installation.
The hood includes lightweight black mesh inserts for the vent openings. These mesh pieces must be bonded to the hood during installation using adhesive.
