The Alpha-N Carbon CSL Trunk Lid for the BMW G87 M2 and G42 2 Series brings motorsport-inspired design and lightweight carbon construction to BMW’s latest compact performance platform. Designed and manufactured in Germany, this trunk lid incorporates the iconic CSL-style integrated ducktail which enhances the rear profile of the vehicle while contributing additional aerodynamic stability over the rear axle.

Manufactured using high-quality pre-preg carbon fiber sourced from Italy, the trunk lid is produced in an autoclave using advanced composite manufacturing processes. Alpha-N primarily utilizes a 2x2 twill carbon weave for its CFRP components, ensuring an optimal balance between strength, weight reduction, and visual consistency with other carbon fiber exterior components.

Compared to the factory trunk lid which weighs approximately 19.5 lbs, the Alpha-N carbon trunk reduces weight to roughly 11.5 lbs, offering a meaningful reduction in mass at the rear of the vehicle. Reducing weight in this area can contribute to improved handling balance while also delivering a significantly more aggressive CSL-inspired appearance.

Alpha-N carbon components are engineered with precise OEM-level fitment. The trunk lid installs using the factory mounting locations and all original BMW hardware is transferred from the factory trunk during installation. This ensures proper alignment and compatibility with the vehicle's existing latch, hinges, and associated components.

This component is delivered in a raw carbon finish and requires professional paint  prior to installation. Unlike cosmetic carbon pieces that rely on thick resin or filler to create a flawless surface, Alpha-N prioritizes lightweight strength and structural integrity. As a result, these parts are designed for proper preparation and finishing by a professional body shop. Due to CF material lay-up, complete or partial paint work is recommended.
