What Causes Wind Buffeting?
In the G87 BMW M2, wind buffeting is primarily caused by turbulent airflow detaching and reattaching around the A-pillar when the windows are down. This creates pressure waves that resonate inside the cabin, leading to the loud pulsing noise we’re all familiar with.

To combat this issue, Verus Engineering developed a sleek and effective set of Carbon Anti-Buffeting Wind Deflectors. Precision-engineered for the G87 platform, these units are designed to redirect airflow cleanly around the side mirrors eliminating the conditions that cause buffeting in the first place. Using in-house scan data from their shop car, Verus ensured each deflector contours perfectly to the mirror bases for a seamless fit. Their design was further validated through CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) to confirm aerodynamic functionality without adding drag or interfering with other performance aero elements.

Each deflector is constructed using 2x2 twill 3k pre-preg carbon fiber, cured in an autoclave for strength and lightness. The two-piece design offers a level of fit and finish that matches OEM quality, and the high-gloss automotive clear coat ensures the visual appeal holds up over time. The carbon weave also mirrors BMW’s M Performance components for a consistent, factory-inspired appearance.
Simple, Secure Installation
The kit installs using 3M VHB double-sided tape, making for a clean, no-drill process. Once installed, the deflectors manage airflow precisely eliminating buffeting while preserving the function of other aerodynamic components downstream.
