Despite its initially polarizing looks, the G8X has firmly taken its place at the top of the enthusiast market. There simply isn’t another new car that currently competes with its performance at its price point and, lets face it, a new M car will always trigger a slew of really exciting development in the aftermarket world. Here are five of the most exciting, premium products that you’ll be seeing at IND very soon:
In Stock - End of 2021: Fall-Line Motorsports G8X M3 / M4 Oil Cooler Guard
When BMW first fashioned the F8X’s oil cooler the bottom of the car, we cringed at the possible catastrophes that could result from even moderate impact. Fortunately, Fall-Line Motorsports made quick work of designing a solution. Indeed the same plight (and solution) exists for the G8X and this newest variant is easily the most polished and comprehensive example to date—even the required drill bits are included to make every step of the installation straight-forward. If you’re on the fence about whether you need this or not, trust us the peace of mind is absolutely worth it.
In Stock - End of 2021: Fall-Line Motorsports G8X M3 / M4 Strut Brace
While the F8X M3 / M4 was treated to an eye-catching boomerang of carbon fiber underneath the hood, the G8X’s bracing regressed to rather underwhelming powdercoated steel. Bummer. Soon after receiving IND’s car for suspension development, Fall-Line had taken task to pen something more deserving of the M3 / M4’s engine bay. Taking inspiration from the OEM front bumper mesh, Fall-Line’s new 6061-T6 aluminum strut bracing features beautifully contoured, hexagonal cutouts throughout and is machined to absolute perfection. We’re happy to report you can also upgrade the strut brace hardware to some lovely ARP pieces as well—for us it’s a no-brainer; the OEM hardware contrasts sharply against the Fall-Line bar.
Pre-Order - December 2021: Eventuri G8X M3 / M4 Carbon Intake
We had the first opportunity to fit the prototype intake to our G82 M4 for SEMA this year and if the preview is anything like the production unit (which invariably it is), we are incredibly excited—it’s gorgeous. Traditionally, extracting power with an aftermarket induction system hasn’t been straightforward, but Eventuri continues to crack the code for every chassis they touch. Expect power to increase and an earful of glorious sounds to come with it.
In Stock - Q1 2022: Eisenmann G8X M3 / M4 Performance Exhaust System
Eisenmann continues to be a name synonymous with BMW, long after their name was adorned on several Touring car BMW cars over twenty five years ago. That marriage bodes well for their latest effort on the G8X platform. The first valved performance exhaust (paired with a non-resonated Eisenmann center pipe) has been a mainstay on our G82 M4 and its sound extracts all of the good notes from the S58 all the way to redline. At launch, expect two finish options on their all-new 4x102mm tip set: brushed black and gloss carbon—both of which feature a modern side cut-out with the Eisenmann logo laser engraved on the inner tip.
In Stock - Q1 2022: Future Classic G8X M3 / M4 Aluminum Oil Filter Housing Cap
Future Classic is keen to keep expanding their product line in 2022 and has taken aim at improving the oil filter housing cap for S58, S55, and S65-equipped BMWs. In the case of the G8X (S58), the oil filter housing sits at the back of the motor and is subjected to abusive heat with no respite. It’s a precarious choice, then, to rely on plastic to do its job adequately over time. By contrast to the OEM plastic unit which dissipates heat poorly, Future Classic employs 6061-T6 aluminum for its housing construction which promises greater longevity and cooler running throughout its life cycle. Like all other Future Classic products, this G8X oil filter housing cap is beautifully machined, thoroughly tested, and will come with everything you need for a plug and play, worry-free installation. Production units will come in a few anodized finishes to suit your personal tastes.
