Declaring War: Martin’s Track-Focused BMW E92 M3 by IND

IND Distribution

For more than 100 years, enthusiasts around the world have fallen in love with the automobile and the emotions it creates. Entire lives have been dedicated to the pursuit of speed, engineering, competition, and the feeling that only a great sports car can provide.

Anyone involved in the aftermarket performance industry must understand that passion. Without it, modifying cars becomes nothing more than a business transaction, and the results almost always show.

Too often, modern project cars are built around trends rather than genuine enthusiasm. Many showcase vehicles prioritize appearance over functionality, using aggressive styling and social media appeal to disguise poor engineering, low-quality components, or incomplete builds. Some cars receive magazine coverage despite barely functioning mechanically, relying entirely on aesthetics while lacking the performance to back them up.

At IND, we have always believed a true enthusiast build should be authentic. Every modification should exist for a reason. Performance, balance, usability, and emotion should work together rather than compete with one another.

This project became our opportunity to make that statement clear.

Fortunately for IND, Martin shared the same philosophy.

From our earliest conversations, it became obvious that Martin was a true enthusiast. His automotive background extended far beyond BMW ownership, with experience across both European and Japanese performance platforms. Because of that, this project was never constrained by trends or expectations. The build would not be designed to satisfy internet opinions or chase popularity. It would simply be built around Martin’s personal vision of what the perfect track-focused E92 M3 should become.

That freedom allowed IND to create one of the most uncompromising E92 M3 Portfolio Projects we had ever assembled.

The foundation of the project centered around creating a car that delivered genuine motorsport-inspired performance while remaining fully usable and enjoyable to drive.

Power came from an ESS Tuning VT2-600 supercharger system paired with a custom painted intake manifold, IND textured black valve covers, and painted ignition coil covers. The supercharged S65 V8 delivered exotic-level performance while maintaining the reliability and drivability expected from a properly engineered street and track car.

To support the added power, the suspension and braking systems were completely transformed using:

  • KW ClubSport coilovers
  • Brembo GT-R brake kit with slotted rotors
  • Rogue Engineering toe arms
  • Falken RT615K tires
  • Volk TE37 wheels finished in Porsche Guards Red

The completed setup focused heavily on balance, grip, braking confidence, and track consistency rather than simply chasing dyno numbers.

Visually, the car combined aggressive motorsport influence with purposeful restraint.

The exterior package included:

  • BMW Motorsport GT4 front lip
  • BMW M3 Edition grilles
  • Varis Japan GT wing
  • Varis rear diffuser
  • Gloss black front and rear bumper mesh
  • IND reflector delete
  • LED tail light conversion
  • BMW Motorsport tow strap

Rather than relying on excessive styling or oversized bodywork, the build used carefully selected motorsport-inspired components that complemented the E92 platform naturally.

The Porsche Guards Red TE37 wheels became one of the defining visual signatures of the build, tying together the aggressive track-oriented appearance while creating a strong contrast against the body color.

The interior reflected the same philosophy seen throughout the exterior and mechanical setup: purposeful, driver-focused, and authentic.

IND installed:

  • Nardi 380mm suede steering wheel
  • IND steering wheel hub adapter
  • IND shifter extension
  • AMS Performance urethane shift knob
  • Bride GIAS seat
  • Macht Schnell seat brackets
  • IND modified Recaro seat slider
  • Defi gauges with IND gauge adapters
  • Fall Line Motorsports roll bar painted Porsche Guards Red

The completed cabin prioritized driver engagement and track functionality without abandoning craftsmanship or attention to detail.

One of the most unique elements of the interior became the custom rear closeout panel created by rldzhao from M3Post, helping integrate the roll bar and rear interior into a cohesive OEM-inspired layout.

As with every IND Portfolio Project, the goal was never to simply create another modified BMW. The goal was to build something authentic: a car engineered around genuine enthusiasm, real performance, and purposeful execution.

Martin’s E92 M3 became exactly that.

Rather than following trends or chasing attention, the project focused entirely on delivering an honest driving experience backed by carefully selected components and proper engineering. In many ways, the build became IND’s response to everything we disliked about the modern aftermarket industry.
