BMW’s latest compact SAV models, the X1 and X2, have quickly become some of the brand’s most popular entry points for new enthusiasts. While these vehicles may not carry a full BMW M badge, the U11 X1 M35i and U10 X2 M35i deliver impressive performance from the factory thanks to the high-output B48 turbocharged engine. Despite this, they are often overlooked when it comes to aftermarket development.
Eventuri recognized this gap and developed a fully engineered carbon fiber intake system specifically for the M35i platform, bringing the same level of design and performance found in their flagship M-car intakes to BMW’s newest compact SAV models.

Engineering the Eventuri Intake for the BMW X1 and X2
Like every Eventuri system, development begins with a complete in-house engineering process. Eventuri first acquires a development vehicle and performs high-resolution 3D scanning of the entire engine bay. This allows the engineering team to identify areas where airflow can be improved over the factory airbox.
From there, Eventuri begins the design phase using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis to simulate airflow behavior and identify the most efficient intake geometry. Multiple prototypes are then produced using 3D printing so the team can physically test different designs for airflow efficiency, fitment, and acoustic characteristics.
Once the optimal design is finalized, Eventuri produces the intake using precision aluminum tooling and pre-preg carbon fiber construction, ensuring both structural rigidity and a premium finish. All mounting brackets are engineered to utilize factory mounting locations, allowing the system to install cleanly without modification.

A Fully Sealed Cold Air Intake System
The Eventuri intake for the X1/X2 M35i is designed as a fully sealed intake system rather than the traditional open cone filter design found in many aftermarket options.
At the core of the system is Eventuri’s patented Venturi filter housing, which provides a smooth and direct airflow path from the intake duct to the turbocharger inlet. The housing is engineered with increased internal volume compared to the factory airbox, allowing for greater airflow capacity while maintaining low intake air temperatures.
Because the system remains sealed, it helps prevent heat soak and ensures consistent performance during demanding driving conditions. This is particularly important for turbocharged engines where cool and stable intake temperatures directly affect power output.

The Eventuri Venturi Housing Advantage
The Eventuri Difference lies in the patented carbon fiber housing used throughout their intake systems.
Rather than simply placing a cone filter behind a heat shield, Eventuri designs their housings to create a Venturi effect, allowing air to accelerate smoothly toward the turbocharger while maintaining laminar airflow conditions. This reduces turbulence and drag, helping the turbocharger operate more efficiently.

Real World Installation and First Impressions
We recently installed the Eventuri intake on Chris@IND’s personal BMW X1 M35i, giving us the opportunity to evaluate both installation and performance firsthand.
Fitment is exactly what you would expect from Eventuri, with precise alignment to factory mounting points and OEM-level build quality. Once installed, the intake transforms the driving experience by adding a more aggressive turbo induction sound, giving the B48 engine a much more engaging character under acceleration.
For X1 and X2 owners looking to unlock more personality from their vehicle, the Eventuri intake is one of the most refined upgrades currently available.
