BMW G90 & G99 M5 Carbon Fiber Splash Guards by Megachip

At IND, we take pride in supporting and helping grow young companies in the automotive industry, the same way others supported us when we were starting out. The team at Megachip is a great example of that next generation of passionate engineers. Based right here in Illinois, they handle everything in-house: design, prototyping, and production, with 3D printers running around the clock to bring their ideas to life.
When IND acquired the G90 M5 and G99 M5 Touring as development platforms, we opened access to our vehicles so select manufacturers could collaborate with us on part development. Megachip was one of those partners, and together we set out to create a premium, model-specific splash guard solution for both M5 variants.
With full access to both vehicles, the Megachip team performed detailed 3D scans of each chassis, ensuring precise geometry for each application. Because the G99 Touring features subtle differences in its rear bumper design, each kit was engineered independently to guarantee a perfect fit and secure mounting.
During the prototyping phase, Megachip utilized a series of 3D-printed samples to test, refine, and validate the design before moving into full carbon fiber production. The result is a product that achieves a true OEM+ fit and finish, built to meet the expectations of M enthusiasts.
For the G9X M5 platform, Megachip elevated the design even further by introducing a high-gloss 2x2 twill weave carbon fiber construction. This marks an evolution from their previous rubber-based versions, delivering a more aggressive, motorsport-inspired appearance that complements the M5’s performance DNA.
Construction & Design Highlights
- Crafted entirely from 100% 3K twill carbon fiber with a high-gloss finish
- Manufactured using CNC-machined molds, cured in an autoclave, then hand-polished and inspected
- 1.5mm structural thickness for enhanced durability and impact resistance
- 45-degree outer edge profile minimizes drag while effectively deflecting debris
- Rear guards mount using custom Nylon-11 brackets for a secure, discreet installation
- Front guards feature adjustable mounting positions for precise alignment
